Rebecca Page Pleated Bag

I had the chance to sew up the new Rebecca Page pleated bag.

And, can I just say, wow.

There is a small and large option. I made the large. It is huge. It's really more weekender bag than oversized handbag, so keep that in mind if you sew it. It's fantastic, but really, really big.

I love the options in it. You can use a zipper closure, or a magnetic snap.

I chose zipper.

I will admit, one of the things I don't like about this pattern (because there's always something I don't like) is the way the zipper ends are hidden. They are tucked into the lining before it is sewn closed, and I don't really care for that. When I sew it again (and it is a when, not an if), I will probably use zipper tabs. That's just my own preference, I think some people really like not having to bother with zipper tabs.

There's also, of course, options for inside zipper and slat pockets. I added a slat pocket.

The patterns also shows you how to add a slat pocket on top of a zipper pocket, which...

Mind blown.

The straps can also be made adjustable, which I did not do. For the large, the straps look really short against the bag, but they actually fit perfectly to tuck the bag right under your arm with the straps over your shoulder.

And! My favorite part of the whole bag! Did you notice that invisible zipper in the first picture?

Yes. It's a pocket. I love, love, love the little hidden outside pocket. Love.

Do you want your own pleated bag? You can grab it here (I do make a small commission at no cost to you if you buy from either link in this post). I hope you enjoy sewing it as much as I did!
